National League Trust U11s Cup 2018

EVANS-MOORE CUP WINNERS Valence travelled to Boreham Wood Stadium as to represent Dagenham and Redbridge FC in the National League Trust Under 11s Cup.

Valence played each team in their opening group twice, beating St Albans 2-0 and 1-0; and Boreham Wood 2-1 and 4-0.

That meant they finished top of their group and earned a place in the semi-finals against Braintree. Valence powered past their opponent with a crushing 5-0 victory to set up a showdown in the final against fellow East Londoners Leyton Orient.

Entering the pitch to the Champions League anthem, the was hard fought, with Valence Daggers on the back foot throughout the first half. However, the dual-site school hung on despite heavy pressure, forcing the tie into penalties.

After two spot-kicks each, the score was even until Leyton secured a slight advantage Daggers player. An amazing save from the next penalty shattered Valence dreams as they had to settle for runners-up.

Despite the loss, qualification for the South-East finals was secured by reaching the last two.

Valence Daggers live to fight another day.
