PLAYERS ARE THE most important people in the sport. Playing for the team, and for the team to win, is the most fundamental part of the game. But not winning at any cost – Fair Play and respect for all others in the game is fundamentally important.

•  Regard it as an honour and a privilege to represent your school and/or district.

•  Treat a match as a game that is fun and play by the rules.

•  Take pride in your performance and that of your school.

•  Encourage others in your team to do their best.

•  Enjoy participating – it should be fun.

•  Accept all decisions by match officials.

•  Recognise outstanding performances made by opponents.

•  Demonstrate concern for an injured player, regardless of their team.

•  Accept victory modestly.

•  Take defeat in the right manner.

• Shake hands with your opponents at the end of the game, regardless of the result.

• Thank the referee and any assistants for their efforts
