27.1.18 – Representative Fixture

Hackney 0-6 Barking & Dagenham

Barking & Dagenham U11’s contiuned their impressive start to 2018 with a convincing victory over Hackney in their latest Representative fixture on Saturday. Braces from Somfechi Ukonu and Matas Klimas, with further goals from Divine Mukasa and Alamin Kosoko, saw the side secure their 3rd straight victory.
Dominate
The visitors had the better of the early exchanges and Romir Mann went close with a low drive that the Hackney keeper pushed on to the post. Mukasa then saw his effort blocked and Ukonu fired wide after being released by a clever Musaka through-ball. Barking & Dagenham contuinued to dominate the game and went closer still when Ukonu saw his low drive fly narrowly wide after some neat work out wide by Amine Zafer. The half ended with another chance for the away side but Klimas fired wide when well placed and the
sides went in at the break level.
Dominance
Barking & Dagenham made a bright start to the 2nd period and were finally rewarded for their dominace when they finally went in front. Zafer’s pinpoint pass set Ukonu free and the marksman made no mistake, with a cool and composed finsihed under the body of the Hackney keeper. The lead was soon doubled as Barking & Dagenham took control of the game. Mann latched onto a ball from Mukasa racing free from the Hackney defence before being brought down as he rounded the Hackney keeper. Mann was unable to carry on after the foul but Mukasa made Hackney pay. Dispatching the resulting free kick in sublime fashion into the top corner.
Rampant
Barking & Dagenham were now rampant and increased their lead with a third. A swift, one touch break saw the ball played by Nathan Solomon into the path of Klimas, who placed the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the 18 yard box. If the 3rd goal was well-worked, the 4th was even better. Shehu found Jethro Medine in space on the right, the Northbury man skipped past 2 challenges before squaring the ball across the face of the goal, where Kosoko was on hand to slot home.
Delightful
Barking & Dagenham continued to press forward and played some delightful football and looked likely to score every time they went forward. Hackney, to their credit, battled on gamely but were unable to get past Ibrahim Bangurah at the heart of the Barking & Dagenham backline. This meant that Abhi Pal was a virtual spectator in the Barking & Dagenham goal.
Flowing
The visitors refused to take their foot off the pedal and scored their 5th of the morning when Ukonu fired home from the edge of the area after another flowing move involving Solomon, Shehu, Mukasa and Medine. Barking & Dagenham then saved their best goal for last as they rounded off an impressive, all-round performance with a 6th on the stroke of full time. Mukasa was once again involved, stealing possession in the centre of the park. His raking, crossfield ball was expertly controlled by Ukonu, who took the ball in his stride before picking up the onrushing Klimas. The Marsh Green man didn’t need to break stride to finish smartly from 12 yards.
The goal demonstrated the confidence that Barking & Dagenham are playing with and sets them up nicely for their next game; an important Essex Finch game away to Chelmsford & Mid Essex.
