THIS YEAR’S NESTBUSTERZ League was won by Valence Primary, who went one better than their runners-up slot from last year.
Going into their final game against perennial challengers Godwin, either side could have captured the title. However a five-star goal bonanza from district star Millie Blythe, plus an extra effort from Ruby Broadley, saw Valence lift the trophy for the first time as they impressively saw off their rivals in a 6-2 win.
This completes a well-deserved silverware double as they added to their Monteagle Shield crown from earlier in the year.
Manager Paul Squibb said, “I am really pleased for the girls for all the hard work put in over the last year and after narrowly missing out on the double last year when we were runners up in the league! Well done girls!”
The result from the final game handed Richard Alibon the runners-up spot in the tightest competition in years.
