St. Albans A 0-4 Barking & Dagenham
BARKING & DAGENHAM’S FIRST TEAM produced an outstanding all-round performance to secure an impressive win over St. Albans A. Goals from Divine Mukasa, Romir Mann, Somfechi Ukuno and an own goal saw Barking & Dagenham leave Hertfordshire with the win.
The first half was an even affair with both sides going close. However, it was the visitors who looked the more dangerous as the half wore on as it took a moment of magic from Mukasa to break the deadlock – the Roding man scoring from fully twenty-five yards, with a rasping left footed drive that flew into the top corner.
The visitors dominated the second period and doubled their lead with another long range effort. Some slick interchange between Matas Klimas, Mukasa and Mann allowed Mann some space and he smashed the ball home from twenty-two yards. Once again the home keeper was rooted to the spot.
Denied
Barking & Dagenham were now into their stride and only the post denied Mukasa a second.
Ukuno, who had been denied by a marginal offside, call grabbed a third after another flowing team move.
Mukasa was then robbed of his second with another dubious offside call – the influential midfielder heading home from the edge of the area, only to see his joy short-lived by a late flag.
Barking & Dagenham continued to dominate until the end and capped an impressive performance with a fourth just before the final whistle: an inswinging corner from Mann was diverted in at the back post by the unfortunate Sanders.
