Barking & Dagenham 2-4 Orpington

BARKING & DAGENHAM B TEAM suffered a 4-2 loss against Orpington in their latest representative fixture on Saturday. Goals from Riley Setters and Eduard Iusco were in vain as the Kent side took the spoils.

The home side played some decent football in the first half and took a deserved lead when Setters fired home from Recce Jeff’s pinpoint cross.

Orpington almost drew level soon after but Rio Inayat’s excellent save saw the home side go in ahead at the break.

Pressure

Inayat produced a series of smart saves at the start of the second half as Barking & Dagenham had to withstand a sustained onslaught pressure from the visitors.

However, the pressure finally paid off when Orpington levelled things up with a penalty.

With the home side on the rocks, the Kent side took the lead with a well worked goal and scored a third soon after.

The home side responded immediately by reducing the arrears with the goal of the game. Isuco’s long range free kick, from 25 yards, flew past the Orpington keeper to give his side a glimmer of hope.

Undone

Buoyed by the goal, Barking & Dagenham enjoyed possession around the Orpington goal but were undone by the award of a second penalty that the Orpington striker slotted home.

Barking & Dagenham battled on to the end but were unable to set up a grandstand finish as the visitors saw out the game to take the win back over the Dartford Bridge.
